Starting Load

Starting load is the temporary demand when equipment begins operating. Motors and compressors can draw more at startup than while running steadily.

How to use the term

Our calculator applies an editable multiplier to each equipment row and tests the largest additional row demand. This is a screening assumption, not a model of every simultaneous start or voltage dip.

What to check before choosing

Share starter type, locked-rotor or starting data, drive information and the startup sequence. A suitable final selection should verify the response of the complete generating set.
